What happened to us?
The Independence Bloc was split between the imaginary 'international' and 'Jewish' values - based on the false reduction of Judaism to only extremist orthodoxy.

What is the Judaism of the Declaration of Independence?
It's the Judaism of Maimonides, Ben-Gurion, Jabotinsky, Ahad Ha'am, Einstein, and Leah Goldberg - a Judaism that includes people from all walks of life: secular, traditional, and observant. A Judaism that believes in shared history and destiny of the Jewish people, with the right to live securely in a Jewish state and the duty to uphold Jewish moral values of justice and equality for all citizens.
It's a Judaism that rejects extremist religious zealots, that degrade women, and glorify hatred while claiming it's done in the name of Jewish morality.

The initiative was established by visionaries, social activists, and educators with the aim of reaffirming the core values of the Israeli Declaration of Independence as the bedrock of our shared vision for a vibrant, democratic, and proudly Jewish state.
